Allen IversonThe Answer? A Team Other Than Philly
-

Philadelphia, PA - Allen Iverson's days as a Philadelphia 76er are just about up.

Iverson, who was reportedly suffering from back problems during the teams' December 7th home game against the Washington Wizards, was asked not to attend the shootaround or the game. The mention of a back problem was sketchy to begin with and no reporters or true basketball fans ever believed it.

The relationship between Iverson and the team has been rocky in the past, but a dismal 5 - 12 season record has made things worse. The result? Iverson wants out and the 76er's don't mind accomodating him.

During an on-air interview with Philadelphia 76ers Chairman Ed Snider, ABC/ESPN reporter Lisa Salters asked Snider whether or not Iverson requested to be traded. "Yes", Snider said with no hesitation.

Snider left no question unanswered when Salters inquired more about Iverson's future with Philadelphia: Salters: Has Iverson played his last game?
Snider: "Probably"
Salters: What was your response to him?
Snider: "We'll try to accomodate him." When asked how he felt about Iverson and his desire to leave the team, Snider responded: "Allen Iverson is a great basketball player and has done a tremendous amount of good things for our organization. Whatever happens, we wish him well."

Snider also said that he will be very involved in the process to get Iverson traded and stated, "It's time to move on".

Allen Iverson has mentioned playing in Minnesota with the Timberwolves alongside superstar forward Kevin Garnett, who also wants a more productive team. With Allen Iverson in the backcourt, he may get his wish.

Iverson is an 11-year NBA veteran who has consistently been among the league leaders in points scored. He won the MVP award during the 2000-2001 season.
