What did you miss, about not having a father in the home while growing up?
And, if you are given the chance to tell him, what would you say?

Learning what a young man is supposed to do or act like.

Having support in my sports and education.

Having another opinion around when my mother was a bit too set in her ways or opinion.

I am happy and extremely blessed in that I had both my mother and father in the home until I was 17 years old so I cannot comment directly.

But I commend those brothas who didnt have a father around and grew to be good men anyway.

I missed being able to talk to my pop about the normal father/son type of subjects. My mom moved away from my pop because he came back from Viet Nam messed up. Even though I grew up without him around, I still have love and respect for him.

Though my mom did a great job raising two knuckle head little boys (I guess I'm a little biased here) I believe that I/we missed out having dad around to teach us about being men. Perhaps those lessons would have been a little less harder to learn with him around.

The assumption is that all of us grew up without a father in the home.
