Working Hard
How many of the brothas out there are truly working toward freedom from traditional jobs?

I think about this often. How many of us are happy doing what we do, and make no push to do something better? Are you just working until retiring or are we trying to do something better?

I'm getting there Willie6. I'm in school now after a long layoff after high school. I'm slowly but surely moving towards getting my AA/BA and then on to Law School.

For years I didn't know what I wanted to do or how to accomplish the things I was interested in. I'm looking forward to working on developing a skillset that will allow me to be my own boss because frankly hoping that some person will recognize your talents is far to nerve wracking to put up with. I like doing things my way and if I like something I do it well.

Good job hmurchison. I believe that we all must continue to seek new goals as far as pursuing careers and business ideas go. Too many people get comfortable in their work, and become happy with where they are.

Even if where they are isn't all that great.

(oh yeah...i know i'm not supposed to be in the menz room, but i figured i'd check it out since it was open LOL)

Man I'm really thinking about doing everything in my power so that in 15 yrs or less I'm working for myself. Today's daily grind is just filled with too many people cracking the whip on you to make them rich.

If I could run my own gig and get a $1,000,000 grant or something I would be ridin' high!

I've been studying some scripture lately about work, since read this, and I hope you'll don't mind me sharing them and asking you what you think about them.Proverbs 10:3-5.3 The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry
but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
4 Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.
5 He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.
Hebrews 6:11-13 11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. 12We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
Ecclesiastes 3:21-23 21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal [a] goes down into the earth?"
22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

I work in an operations center at my city's airport, deal with everyone from TSA, FBI, Customs, and local law enforcement. I am trying to work my way to the position of being the airport director, so I got a lot of work ahead of me.
