The American Legacy’s Men of Honor and Distinction Awards were established in 2006 to pay tribute to African-American men whose pride, determination, and brilliance has inspired and empowered generations. The American Legacy Men of Honor and Distinction Award mirrors the magazine’s signature Women of Strength & Courage Awards—now approaching its ninth year—both events feature a panel discussion between New York area high school students and the event’s honorees.
