Anyone interested in taking the Mensa Admission Test should visit www.us.mensa.org/MTD to find the nearest testing location. The test fee is $40 and a photo ID is required. Test takers should show up 30 minutes prior to the test for registration. The test is open to anyone age 14 and older, and parental permission is required for anyone age 14-17.
"American Mensa currently has more than 56,000 members nationwide, but more than 6 million Americans are qualified to join the organization," said Russ Bakke, Chairman of American Mensa. "Our members benefit from the interaction with like-minded individuals, whether it is through the national and local events, community service or a Special Interest Group (SIGs), and many have created life-long friendships by belonging to American Mensa. Mensa Testing Day provides the public with an opportunity to get a glimpse of that fun, and to see if they qualify to join."
Mensa local groups participate in local and national social events, community service, and can join any of the organization's 161 SIGs. The 134 local chapters of American Mensa host a wide range of activities every month, including lectures, game nights or a restaurant gathering.
