THE NATIONAL BLACK PROGRAMMING CONSORTIUM ANNOUNCES WEBCAST SERIES ON SUCCESSFUL AFRICAN ENTREPRENEURS

New York, NY - The National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC) starting October 2, 2006 will unveil 8 web cast segments of filmmaker, and decade-long CNN journalist, Carol Pineau's already acclaimed documentary piece, "Africa: Open For Business." Pineau's film has elicited a lot of media response from the likes of CNN, BBC, NPR, "The Washington Post," and many others, when screened in several venues including the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

According to the UN trade agency, UNCTAD, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Africa offers the highest return on direct foreign investment in the world, far exceeding other regions.

"Africa: Open For Business" probes into the world of successful African businesses and exposes myths while debunking fears surrounding doing business in Africa. With concise segments following successful African and Africa-based entrepreneurs, Pineau's film shows resilient and creative businesses who meet and exceed international standards everyday. These pioneers are helping grow the economies of countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Botswana, Uganda, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and several others, one business at a time.

NBPC hopes, through this web cast – including articles, video and podcasts - to increase public awareness on the potential for fiscal success in Africa. This webcast also seeks to combat the never-ending stream of images of victim hood perpetrated by a majority of the mainstream media in regards to African countries and endeavors.

WEB CASTS BEGIN: October 2nd, 2006. For more information and to view webcasts, visit: www.nbpc.tv
