The Queen Project is 100% about the empowerment of women and families that rely on them. The mission is to encourage sisters, mothers, daughters, wives, grandmothers to embrace activism, regardless of their strength and passions. "Our society is in disarray, economic issues, wars, lack of education, abuse of women, children, AIDS, etc. How can we not attempt to lend a voice to these plights?" states Tamia, 5-time Grammy nominee and mother of two.

The Queen Project was started when all three ladies decided to reach out to each other to help with their respective charities. Deborah Cox clarifies the origin of the project: "we are all very active with our own charities. Kelly champions stroke prevention, Tamia and her husband have spent a lot of time and resources working with children and I am very passionate about preventing the abuse of women. With one conversation we realized that we had to create a platform to encourage other women to join in and lend their voice to change."
